Yurok’s MMIW emergency
In response to ongoing tragedies and increased reports of human trafficking attempts, the Yurok Tribe declared a missing and murdered Indigenous women emergency.
Tribal officials intend to raise awareness in an attempt to fight statistics that Native women are trafficked at disproportionate rates and murders of Native women are much more likely to go unsolved.
