The Seminole Tribe of Florida has donated more than $2.7 million to politicians over the last three years, The Miami Herald reports.

A big chunk went to Republican interests, the paper said. Nearly $1.4 million went to state and national GOP groups, including $500,000 to a political committee run by Gov. Rick Scott (R), who just signed a new Class III gaming compact with the tribe.

“The Seminole Tribe of Florida has been, and continues to be, actively engaged on multiple levels in the political and legislative process,” spokesperson Gary Bitner told the paper.

Democrats received $705,000 over the past three years, the paper reported.
