A public school district in Oregon is still deciding the fate of of an
award-winning
yet controversial
Sherman Alexie
book.
Parents complained about the
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
. They say they are uncomfortable with some of the language and some of the topics addressed.
A committee of the Sweet Home School Board failed to come up with enough votes to remove the book from the reading list. But they will meet again next week to consider the matter.
