Editorial: Grant will boost Lower Brule Sioux Tribe business





Newspaper praises $300,000 grant that the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe will use to expand Lakota Foods:
A South Dakota tribe focused on economic development is a good choice to receive a $300,000 federal grant.

The Lower Brule Tribe will receive the cash to promote its popcorn business and boost its Native American economy. The government awards the money to help create jobs in a disadvantaged marketplace.

As part of the grant, the tribe will put in a match of $310,000 and commit the money to market its Lakota Foods popcorn business.
