The
Oneida
Nation of Wisconsin might pull the plug on a waste recycling plant that has generated controversy on and off the reservation.
The
Oneida Seven Generations
Corp., a tribal entity, is in litigation over a permit that was revoked in the city of Green Bay.
The company is now looking at a site on the reservation but tribal members don't want it in their community.
Tribal leaders are meeting today to consider the fate of the project. Chairman Ed Delgado indicated he is ready to pull funding for the litigation.
“I want us to stop the spending,” Delgado told The Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I can’t go into details at this point other than to say I want the spending stopped.”
