Foul play not suspected in death of Pyramid Lake Paiute chair





Authorities do not suspect foul play in connection with the death of Wayne Burke, the chairman of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe of Nevada.

Burke died suddenly on Sunday. He was 38.

“Chairman Burke served the tribe with honor and distinction and was instrumental in moving forward a long list of accomplishments that have benefited all of us,” Vice Chairman Mervin Wright Jr., said in a statement, The Reno Gazette-Journal reported.. “We will continue to move his and the tribe’s agenda forward.”

Autopsy results are pending.

Wright will serve as chairman for the remainder of the year.
