Authorities in Manitoba will search a landfill in hopes of recovering the remains of Tanya Nepinak, a Native woman who went missing year.

Winnipeg Police Chief Keith McCaskill said Nepinak, 31, was murdered and her body was left in a dumpster. Her remains are believed to be somewhere in the Brady Road landfill.

"We believe she is there, and we have strong belief in that," McCaskill said at a press conference, CBC News reported.

Shawn Cameron Lamb, 52, has been charged with Nepinak's murder even though her remains haven't been found. He's also charged with murdering two other Native women who went missing in Winnipeg.
