Ho-Chunk Inc. executive addresses tribal leaders at NCAI meet

Lance Morgan, the head of Ho-Chunk Inc., the economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, spoke at the National Congress of American Indians midyear conference on Monday.

Morgan encouraged tribal leaders to take risks in order to grow economies on their reservations. “There's no secret formula. All we're doing is thinking about solving our problems and figuring it out," he said, The Omaha World-Herald reported.

HCI employs more than 1,000 people in 26 subsidiaries in the U.S., Mexico, Iraq and other nations. The corporation reported $226 million in revenue in 2011.

NCAI is being held in Lincoln.
