Indian museum in Oklahoma needs $20M for more construction

The American Indian Cultural Center and Museum needs at least $20 million by the end of the month to keep construction going, an official said.

The facility has received more than $80 million in state, federal and private funds. But it's only half complete and another $80 million is needed to finish it.

Blake Wade, the CEO of the Native American Cultural and Educational Authority, said he's trying to raise enough money to keep it going for another year. That could give lawmakers more time to consider a $40 million bond package.

"We're trying to put together enough money to keep on going for another year," Wade told The Tulsa World. "I do believe where there's a will, there's a way."
