Editorial: Secure funding to finish Oklahoma Indian museum

"The American Indian Cultural Center and Museum got a push toward completion Tuesday, this one from the Oklahoma City Council. What's needed now is backing from a Republican-controlled Legislature that to date has shown little interest in finishing the work of its predecessors.

The council agreed to give $9 million for the project — provided the Legislature comes through with the $40 million needed to complete it. This isn't the first sizable gift provided by the city for this cause; it initially donated the land where the museum is being built, 300 acres east of Interstate 35 and south of the Oklahoma River."
