Phyliss J. Anderson, the newly elected leader of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, says her top priority will be financial stability for the tribe. Anderson said a "dark cloud" exists over the tribe. The FBI recently raided the tribe's casino, Moody’s Investors Service downgraded the tribe's credit and PricewaterhouseCoopers left as tribal auditor. “But now with new leadership, I believe they will be more open to work with us,” Anderson said of outside entities, The Laurel Leader-Call reported. Anderson is due to be sworn in October 11. She defeated one-term chief Beasley Denson. Get the Story:
