Blue Lake Rancheria shuts down business staffing company

The Blue Lake Rancheria of California has shut down Mainstay Business Solutions, its temporary staffing company.

The tribe said it can't keep the business running due to a dispute with the state Economic Development Department. The company has been fined $16.4 million for allegedly violating state employment insurance laws.

The company provides temporary employees to companies. At any given time, 8,000 people are being put to work, according to the tribe.

The tribe is hoping to reverse the state fine.
