The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Idaho say Larry EchoHawk will be a great leader for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
EchoHawk, a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, used to work for the tribe. He later went on to serve as attorney general of Idaho.
“We’re very happy and excited about his nomination,” tribal executive director Angelo Gonzales told Indian Country Today. “We think he will be a friend and confidante in Washington, D.C.”
The Senate Indian Affairs Committee has not set a date for EchoHawk's confirmation hearing.
