The ousted leader of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana is trying to get his job back after he was forcibly removed from office. Eugene Little Coyote said a ruling from the Interior Board of Indian Appeals supports his leadership. He wants to be escorted back into office by Bureau of Indian Affairs police officers. On December 28, a BIA SWAT team forcibly removed Little Coyote from office, The Billings Gazette reported. Regional Director Ed Parisian recognized former vice president Rick Wolfname as president of the tribe. Little Coyote and Wolfname got into a shoving match at tribal headquarters last July, the paper said. Neither man will say what the fight was about. Get the Story:
