The ousted chairman of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona has been allowed to return to his job -- but only for 15 days.
Ben Nuvamsa was removed on March 27 after less than a month as chairman. The tribal council said he failed to meet residency requirements to hold public office.
Nuvamsa took the council to court, saying his removal was illegal. The Hopi Appellate Court granted a temporary order to set aside the removal decision for 15 days, or longer if he get an extension.
"We're anxious to get to work," he told The Arizona Daily Star.
