The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota is calling in debts owed by tribal members.
The tribe operates an office that issues small loans to tribal members. But with a budget crisis looming, the tribe plans to hire a collection agency to start collecting the money it is owed.
The tribe faces a $100 million debt. About 80 employees were laid off and some tribal programs have been cut back.
