Tex Hall loses challenge to election results

Tex Hall, the former chairman of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation of North Dakota, lost a challenge to the tribe's recent election results.

Hall accused his rival, Marcus Wells Jr., of using casino payouts to influence the vote. Wells won by more than 200 votes.

The tribal election commission board held a hearing last Thursday but upheld the results, saying there was no direct evidence of wrongdoing. Hall says he will take the case to tribal court.

Wells, a former chairman, was already sworn in to his post.
