A former official of the Crow Tribe of Montana who was convicted of corruption in the 1990s is on trial for fraud.

Theodore Jon Hogan, 61, is accused of lying to the Department of Justice about his financial status. As a result of his corruption conviction, he was supposed to be paying restitution but claimed he couldn't afford it.

Federal prosecutors, however, say he had over $700,000. They found money in hidden bank accounts and money that was transferred to his wife.

The Crow Tribe had hired Hogan to drum up business but terminated the agreement after he failed to bring in any leads. Hogan served as tribal secretary in the late 1980s.
