"I am so disgusted and ashamed by the latest antics of our "supposed" leadership. What does this say to our people, the youth, our children? That it's OK to settle our differences with violence? Isn't it enough that we already have so much violence on this reservation, without these "supposed" leaders of our tribe getting in the act?
How are we ever supposed to get past the domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse and assaults that occur almost daily, when we have people like this in leadership positions? And to boot, they probably won't have to face any consequences, i.e., jail time and/or fines.
I think that these two should publicly and humbly apologize to the Cheyenne people for causing this shame and embarrassment."
