Before adjourning for the year, the House and Senate approved a bill to extend tax breaks for businesses that hire Native Americans.
The credits apply to businesses located on Indian lands or former reservations. According to The Tulsa World, two-thirds of the state qualifies.
One provision applies to new businesses while another applies to Indian employees. They have been extended until December 2007.
