President Bush signed a $70 billion tax bill that failed to include tax credits for businesses that hire Native Americans.
Last December, the House extended, for one year, two Indian tax employment credits. The tax breaks are designed to help businesses that hire tribal members or spouses of enrolled tribal members who live on Indian lands.
But when Bush signed the bill on Wednesday, the provision had been removed, The Oklahoman reported. All tax extensions were removed at the last minute, the vice president of The State Chamber of Oklahoma said.
