"Sioux Falls media's racism is showing. I know, I know, you love stories about poor Indians and the mistreatment of minorities. But if one wants to be your leader - you raise your ugly racist head. Bruce Whalen, Pine Ridge Indian with some Irish blood, wants to be our U.S. congressman.
But no matter how many times we call the media, no one comes to hear him say why he is a get-rid-of-government-corruption, pro-life Republican. He doesn't fit your mold for an Indian story.
But an activist like Russell Means would fit your mold. So ask Means about Whalen; he converted Means to the Republican Party. Both will tell you Indians are more Republican than Democrat.
So media, show yourself enlightened nonracists and come hear Whalen speak."
