Maps help tell history of Montana's tribes

Researchers at the University of Montana have created a map-based curriculum to help tell the history of Montana's tribes.

The series starts with one of the earliest known maps of western Montana and continues to the present day. Regional maps have been created to focus on specific tribal regions.

The maps were produced by the Regional Learning Project of the UM Continuing Education Center. They were presented to educators at the Indian Education for All Institute held this week in Billings.
