The Montana Indian Education Association is calling on the state to provide $23 million over the next two years to fulfill the Indian Education For All act.
The state constitution requires public schools to about Indian history, culture and government. But the state has never provided money to carry out the mandate since the act was passed in 1999.
On November 9, the state Supreme Court ruled that the funding for the act was inadequate.
