The Billings Gazette story about gangs on the Crow Reservation in Montana has drawn the most comments on the newspaper's website.
As of Thursday evening, more than 70 people posted comments about the story. Some praised it for raising the issue while others said the story overstated the alleged presence of gangs on the reservation.
"We don't have any gangs, we just have kids with paint. No Paint = No Gangs," wrote one reader. "Just more bad press for the Rez."
Some readers criticized Chris Grant, the gang consultant who visited the reservation, for the conclusions he drew. One poster said the "Crazy Indianz" group that was labeled as a gang is merely a graffiti crew.
