Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. said he hopes to reopen the tribe's Early Head Start program within a few days and the Head Start program within a month.
Early Head Start is designed for children up to three years of age. Head Start is for children ages three to five.
Both programs were shut down when the Administration of Children and Families pulled federal funding. The agency said the tribe failed to conduct background checks on employees.
