The Royal Canadian Mounted Police uncovered a site on the Fisher River First Nation in Manitoba where they believe a five-year-old girl was buried.
The RCMP didn't find the remains of Phoenix Sinclair at the site because they say animals picked at her bones. But they say the found evidence that she was buried there after being killed sometime last June.
Phoenix's 24-year-old mother and the woman's 43-year-old common-law husband have been charged with murder. The mother apparently took custody of Phoenix without knowledge of child welfare officials in Manitoba, who lost track of the girl for nine months.
