The Jack Abramoff scandal has not slowed down fundraising efforts by lawmakers linked to the disgraced lobbyist, Bloomberg News reports.
Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio), who is said to be the focus of a Department of Justice corruption probe, took in almost 80 percent more money in 2005 than in 2003, Bloomberg said. He is running for re-election and say s he won't drop out even if he is indicted.
Sen. Conrad Burns (R-Montana), whose former staffer has been contacted by federal investigators, raised $3.7 million for his campaign last year. His re-election ads accuse Abramoff of ripping off tribes.
Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas), whose legal troubles forced him to step down as House majority leader, is also seeking re-election. He is still bringing in large, corporate donations, Bloomberg said.
