The Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma received a top honor from the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development.
The tribe's Community Development Corp. was one of 14 finalists for the Honoring Nation's program. It received "High Honors" for its efforts to provide financing and technical assistance to business start-ups.
The program has loaned more than $5 million to help 71 Indian businesses. All Indians in Oklahoma can seek help from the tribe.
