Stan Jones turned 80 in July, with half of his life spent in a leadership position in the Tulalip Tribes.
Jones has served on the tribal board of directors for 40 years. He's been chairman for 27 of those years.
Hailed as a consensus building, Jones has guided the tribe through economic and cultural growth. The tribe has attracted new businesses to the reservation in addition to developing a casino, resort and other enterprises.
Through it all, Jones considers himself a fisherman at heart. He spends a lot of his time on his 36-foot boat, the Skipper J.
