Three Connecticut towns say the Bureau of Indian Affairs is not soliciting their input on proposed land-into-trust regulations.

The leaders of Ledyard, North Stonington and Preston said the draft of the rules has been provided to tribes but not to other interested parties. They asked associate Interior deputy secretary Jim Cason to give them a copy.

The proposal has been widely available on the Internet since December 2005. But last month, Interior announced that it was going to delay consideration of the rules in order to move forward with other trust reform initiatives.
