The Haliwa-Saponi Tribe of North Carolina received a $772,000 grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The money will be used for youth services, counseling, education and other activities.
The tribe has received HUD grants for the past eight years, although the funding level has dropped in recent years.
The tribe is recognized by the state of North Carolina and is working towards federal recognition.
