The Penobscot Nation of Maine will use a $35,000 federal grant to plan for its economic future.
The grant was awarded by the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. Part of the money will be used to update the tribe's long-term plan.
The rest of the money will be used to develop new businesses. With the help of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, the Penobscots recently opened PIN Rx, a mail-order pharmacy.
