The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the Indian Health Service are teaming up to open a new diabetes center.
The 10,000-square-foot facility will be located at the Hastings Medical Center in Tahlequah. It will provide services for the more than 2,000 diabetes patents at Hastings.
The tribe is contributing $104,000 to help equip the new building. It is slated to open in May 2007.
