Jourdain accused of buying votes at Red Lake

Red Lake Nation Chairman Floyd Jourdain Jr. is denying allegations that he bought votes and used tribal funds in his recent re-election bid.

Jourdain won a run-off election earlier this month by just 69 votes. But the tribe's election board says a new election is needed because Jourdain bought votes in at least four cases and used more than $1,600 in tribal funds to further his campaign.

Jourdain denies all of the charges and says the election board doesn't have the authority to call a new election. He is due to be sworn into his second term in office on August 8.
