A reward of up to $10,000 has been established for information leading to the person or persons responsible for a fire that destroyed a sacred Karuk dance house.
Leaders of the Karuk Tribe have labeled the July 1 fire an arson and local authorities say it is suspicious. At this point, the incident is still being investigated.
The dance house was located in the ancient Karuk village of Katimiin. It was used for the Brush Dance, a children's healing ceremony.
