Members and leaders of the Karuk Tribe of California met on Wednesday at the site of a sacred ceremonial house that was destroyed by fire.
The suspicious fire is being treated as a hate crime by the tribe. The FBI has been notified, tribal member Julian Lang said.
Tribal leaders agreed to offer a reward of about $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible. The full tribal membership has to approve the amount.
The house was used for the Brush Dance, a children's healing ceremony.
