The public school district on the Menominee Reservation in Wisconsin has been removed from the state's No Child Left Behind Act failing list.
Last year, the Menominee Indian School District was the only entire district listed as needing improvement under the law. This year, the district as a whole made improvements, although Menominee Indian High still failed to make adequate yearly progress.
Nearly 100 schools from 20 districts throughout the state failed to meet No Child Left Behind Act standards. More than half were urban schools in the Milwaukee area.
