A member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana was recognized on Thursday to his actions in saving the lives of four young members of the Muckleshoot Tribe of Washington.

Edward Marsette, 41, was presented the Interior Department's Citizen�s Award for Bravery at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.. He was cited for quickly helping the victims of a car crash on the Muckleshoot Reservation on March 15.

Marsette suffered burns in the process but acted "without regard for personal safety," the department said.

Although Marsett was able to pull four people to safey, the crash claimed the lives of two young tribal members. The driver, an 18-year-old tribal member, is being charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.
