The Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council says a $35,000 feasibility study for an Indian center in Wausau, Wisconsin, will be ready in May.
The council, which represents 10 tribes in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula, endorsed the center last summer. The city council also supports the proposal.
If approved, the tribes will operate the center. They hope to preserve Indian culture and language and promote tourism.
