The Port Gamble SKlallam Tribe of Washington celebrated the opening of its new elders center last Friday.
The center is located within the House of Knowledge campus. The 3,775-square-foot building features a full-size kitchen, restrooms, an office, a lounge and a gathering room.
In addition to the elders center, the $4.2 million House of Knowledge complex includes a longhouse, education and career center. The tribe will start work on a library later this year.
