A senior government official in Saskatchewan who belongs to the New Demoratic Party is being accused of bullying the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations after a tribal leader said was willing to work with the conservative Saskatchewan Party.

FSIN Chief Alphonse Bird spoke at the Saskatchewan Party convention last week and said was impressed by comments made by Brad Wall, the party's leader. That led to what has been called an angry phone call from deputy premier Clay Serby, a Democrat, to Bird.

"They weren't happy, I'll say that, but that's all I'll say about a private conversation," Bird told CBC News of the call.

FSIN is going to issue report cards of political leaders but Bird said the organization doesn't support or endorse one political party.
