Two men were killed and a police officer was badly injured when a fire broke out at the dilapidated community jail on the Kashechewan First Nation in Ontario.

The jail was described as being in extremely bad condition. "It looked more like something you see in Sarajevo than the province of Ontario," a lawmaker told the Canadian Press.

The incident has sparked another round of the blame-game as provincial and federal officials spar over poor conditions on the reserve. Just two months ago, the province conducted a massive airlift of 1,500 residents after E.coli, a deadly bacteria, was found in the dilapidated water system.
