The justice minister in Manitoba said the province will set up an office to help Native people with complaints about police misconduct.
Native leaders have long complained about relations with the police. The issue came to a head this year when officers shot and killed two Metis men in Manitoba.
Justice Minister Gord Mackintosh said he wants to help Natives navigate the complaint process with police officers. He plans to have the office up and running in 2006.
