Mashantucket Tribe goes green for golf courses

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is using recycled water to irrigate two golf courses.

The tribe obtained a wastewater re-use permit, the first of its kind, from the state Department of Environmental Protection. The permit allows the tribe to use about 600,000 gallons of recycled water for two 18-hold golf courses.

The golf courses are located on a 1,200-acre property known as Lake of the Isles. The land is not held in trust.
