When the Penobscot Nation of Maine opened a mail order pharmacy earlier this month, the tribe got help from an old friend, The New London Day reports.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut helped the Penobscots prepare a budget and obtain grants and loans for the business. The Pequots, who run their own pharmacy, also lobbied Maine Gov. John Baldacci (D) to support the program.
Penobscot Indian Nation Rx, or PIN Rx, debuted this month with Baldacci's backing. The program will help Maine residents save money on prescription drugs.
