Crow Tribe walks 166 miles to combat diabetes

Members of the Crow Tribe of Montana walked a total of 166 miles in an effort to combat diabetes and encourage healthy lifestyles.

Young and old participated in the Spirit of the Four Winds Walk. It began on Monday from four parts of the reservation and ended in Crow Agency yesterday.

Crow Chairman Carl Venne said diabetes is on the rise among tribal members. Two years ago, 10 percent had been diagnosed with the disease but now it's up to 14 percent.
