The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation and its primary foe, state attorney general Richard Blumenthal, will discuss federal recognition at the Connecticut Historical Society.
The tribe and the state are locked in a battle over the Bureau of Indian Affairs' decision to recognize the tribe. The state says the tribe doesn't qualify.
The forum, "Federal Recognition or Flawed System? Pride, Politics & Connecticut's Native American Tribes," takes place March 15. See http://www.chs.org for more information.
