Indian company in Colombia creates coca soda

An Indian-owned company on Colombia has created its own brand of coca soda as an alternative to Coca-Cola.

Coca Sek, which means "coca of the sun" in the Nasa language, is a carbonated drink made from the coca leaf extract and reportedly tastes like lemonade and ginger ale. The soda was launched this week in two southern Colombian states, with plans to go nationwide.

Just don't look for Coca Sek in the United States or most other countries. Products that contain raw coca -- which is used to make cocaine -- are banned.

Empresa Colombiana de la Coca, a company owned by members of the Nasa Tribe, already sells a coca-based tea.
