Men plead not guilty for deer hunt on reservation

Four men pleaded not guilty to charges that they organized an illegal deer hunt on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. A fifth man did not enter a plea.

The men are charged with violating federal law by selling and transporting deer that had been illegally shot. The men had tried to obtain licenses from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe but never received them, authorities say.

The men are affiliated with a guide company based in North Dakota that charges clients as much as $5,700 for hunting excursions.
